The Medical Student Research Forum is an annual event that unites medicine, health, and biomedical sciences students from different universities, giving them the opportunity to present and share their research findings, engage in discussions, and compete for awards presented by the College of Medicine at King Saud University. The forum also features workshops and lectures on a range of medical research topics.
The 8th Medical Students’ Research Forum will take place from February 12–14, 2026, at the College of Medicine, King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

There are two phases: Phase one involves assessing submitted abstracts with decision notifications sent via email by late December 2025/early January 2026. Phase two involves the presentation and evaluation of selected oral/poster submissions, which will take place on February 12–14, 2026, at King Saud University.

No. We accept all eligible research by undergraduate students and interns from all universities, as long as it meets the conditions and guidelines on our website. Click Here!
There is no limit to the number of different abstracts you can submit. However, an author may present no more than one abstract in each category (oral , posters, case reports). If MSRF accepts more than two submissions in a category from an author, one of their eligible co-authors must present any additional abstracts.
No, your research does not need to be published in order to submit your abstract.
Yes, as long as it has not been submitted to MSRF’s previous editions.
Faculty members of the College of Medicine will assess abstracts anonymously to eliminate any potential bias. After having all abstracts assessed by two reviewers, the 24 top scoring abstracts will be chosen for oral presentations, the next 156 abstracts are chosen for the poster sessions; the top 12 case reports will also be selected for poster presentations.
The submitting author will be notified of their abstract status (accepted/incomplete/rejected) and presentation type (oral/poster) via email by late December 2025/early January 2026.
Yes, you should register by completing the registration form, which will be released in due course. The registration form will be posted on our social media platforms and website. You will also be able to register on site on the forum days.

No, the forum is open to everyone.
Yes, a total of nine winners (three for oral presentations, five for poster presentations, and one for case reports) will be awarded a monetary prize in addition to a certificate of their achievement.
The winners will be announced during the closing ceremony on the last day of the forum (February 14, 2026).
All research team members participating in oral presentations or poster presentations will receive a certificate bearing all their names (one certificate per abstract). Attendees who have registered will receive a certificate of attendance.
No. Presentation format depends on the outcome of the evaluation process, with the highest-scoring abstracts selected for oral sessions and the other successful abstracts allocated to poster sessions.

No, KSUMSC will not be covering those expenses or any other expenses related to attending or participating in the conference.
Suitable formal/professional attire is conventional for such events and conferences, as well as a medical student’s dress code-compliant outfit.
You can bring your notebooks, laptops, tablets, or devices that may help you with taking notes during the lectures or workshops. Be ready to write notes, questions, and engage in discussion.
